Skyzoo, Donny Goines & Sha Stimuli pictured above at the 2008 UMA Awards picking up their hardware for Best Lyricist, Buzz Factor and Best Male Artist, respectively.
The event went down on August 10th at the BB King Theater in NY.
nside, the event was hosted by Hot 97’s own Dee Vasquez and on the turntables DJ Jazz spun some of the hottest records of up and coming artists and nominees. There were live performances, two that stood out were from nominees Bang Bang Boogie which had Cuban Link with them, and Ru 1 who had Red Cafe and DJ Envy with them during their performances, the presenters ranged from C-Mil$ to Slick Watts, the winners ranged from Skyzoo to Focus to Donny Goines and there was even two up and coming designers who showed off their swim suit collections.
The entire night was a great feel for how diverse Hip-Hop is. The unity and respect, which were the theme of the night, were felt by everyone who was in attendance. Two of the biggest highlights of the night hands down were when Hip-Hop pioneers Slick Rick and Grandmaster Flash received awards. To have two of the originators of Hip-Hop in the building to support the underground movement was something words can’t describe. Over all the night was amazing. – [ SOURCE ]

Theo - “Keep Doing Your Thing” (feat. Skyzoo)
His new mixtape, The Birth, drops this Friday.
For The Bonus… My dude Smokeyyy has an interview with Theo over on ThatRealISH.
Here’s a preview.
I agree, simple as that. Talking of good music, what music was the good shit when you were growing up? The artists that influenced you, the genres that influenced you, the song that was your ‘Ooohhh damn Taniqua, hold my glass, this ma jaaaaaayummm! *proceeds to go wild on the dancefloor*’ joint? I’ll have to try the Honey Bunches of Oats sometime.
Hahahaha. Well, my parents played a lot of Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Kenny G, Michael Bolton. A range of music, I grew up on a lot. My parents were too avid on vulgar hip-hop when I was younger for obvious reasons, so I listened to a lot ranging in Heavy D, Nas, Jay-Z, Slick Rick, ATCQ & Outkast to things in the R&B/Soul range like Soul 4 Real, En Vouge, Toni Braxton, Keith Sweat, the et cetera’s.
What about nowadays?
I still listen to the same stuff, well some. I listen to everything honestly, it’s cliche to say that nowadays but its sheer honesty, if I feel its good I’m going to enjoy it, but I’ve been listening to this song by Rich Boy titled ‘Feel The Wood’ production on the song is hot. Sound is similar to a song on ‘The Birth’.
Ahhh, The Birth, hitting our speakers 08.08.08. It’s a well known fact The Birth 08.08.08 > The Olympics 08.08.08 so tell us more about that. The concept, the production, the guests, the premier on OkayPlayer?
Hahaha. Well a birth in any sense is a emergence. Standing out, coming out of something, being apparent which is what the birth symbolizes for musically &where I wish to excel to. I kept production consistent but I still had a range, if that makes sense. We have Profit (Sweetest Language), Young Eli, Kris Fame (Say It Right), Austin White, Judah, Santo Angelo & my homie Brose (TV Show), I kept it in arms reach somewhat. As far as features I kept it simple, not selfish but simple. I got James Watts as well the big homie Skyzoo, so its looking delicious, lol. Yea OkayPlayer, much much MUCH respect to them, they have blessed me with the opportunity for my music to be showcased at such a high degree. – [ SOURCE ]
