Dallas and Rafi return to the scene of their very first crime, McDonalds and create the futuristic brunch by combining the breakfast menu and lunch menu. Let me just say that they went to the most liberal McDonald’s in the WORLD. This type of shit don’t be poppin’ off at any Mickey D’s in the Richmond Metro. The Golden Arches close up bruffus shop 15 minutes prior to when lunch is being served. Like they are the ones paying for the biscuits or something. You try showing up at 10:15 am and order a mcgriddle. The mean chick in the window will take a deep breath and look at you sideways like you just RUINED her profit margins for the month. Bruffus ends at 10:30 around here. But for the employees, it ends at 10:15.

I was talking to some of my peoples, who rap, and they were basically, in a nutshell, in a round-a-bout way, saying how hard it is to get on. And this is what my peoples need to take out of this…if you don’t grind, you won’t make it.
Look at DP. He’s put in crazy work and he’s been having a great year…as far as I can see.
And it’s like what Joell Ortiz says, he REALLY wants it so he hustles. There’s no excuse anymore for anybody. It truly comes down to hard work. Yeah you got passion…lots of passion. But if your work ethic cannot outmatch that passion, then fuck it…don’t waste your time. Goto the beach. Something.
I can’t sit back on idle. For the little that I have right now, I’m so blessed. And I’m thankful. And I don’t sleep much anymore. There’s work to do. I understood a long time ago if I wanted something for myself, I got to do it for myself and the only person to blame is myself.
I’m still playing a lil’ catch up from my day off yesterday. Check DP and Rafi on Brian Lehrer Live talking about their video “Checkmate” and other work they’ve put together.
A Rafi-less DP hits the streets to film a club hopper’s tradition, “Sidewalk Pimpin’”. When I was in school and needed to unwind, or dry-hump bidges, me and the team (at the time Dream, Rondell, Rob and Johnny) would pile into whatever couple of whips we had and make our way to the party. Until Dream and Johnny were on this “very thrifty” kick where they didn’t want to pay the door cover to go in someplace that they didn’t think would be worth it. I could feel that to a point. But these kids went the extra mile. We’d post up outside the spot for a minute to see if any women were going in. They’d do that for a extra few minutes, look in windows, then ask the doorfool to let them in on some nonsense like “can I use the bathroom.” “I’m not going to dance, I’m just going to get a drink.” “Can I use the phone, I don’t have a cell phone.” The rest of us would be inside already! Other than that they’d try to sneak in through the back. Or call one of us to let them in from another door.
When they heard that door price, $10, they’d freak out. And be like, “Nah man, we’ll just holla at the chicks when they come outside.” They’d never holla. I’d just shake my damn head at both of them. Cheap bastards. It really made no sense. It was college and I know how broke the students are/is/were however, $10 wasn’t too tough to slice considering most mofos in other cities play atleast $20 or $30.
It seems that Dallas ran across some of the same type of womenfolk while he was sidewalk pimpin’. Saditty. You know, saditty chicks. The ones who walk and stand with their arms folded and have the look on their faces like they’re having a “not so fresh” day, and cramps in their uterus, and everybody is staring at them. OR the ones that are shivering like a chihuahua because they’re outside in a spaghetti strap tank top. This label is usually applied to skinny women. Most times they just hold up the wall…or the bar. And get mad because they aren’t having a good time, but everybody else is. And the only thing that’ll satisfy her is 1. a large amount of liquor or… 2. if Denzel Pitt strolled up to her and handed her a wad of cash and said “This is for you and I don’t want sex, I would like to just talk, and I won’t feel on yo booooooty.” And since number 2 isn’t going to happen to a saditty chick, number 1 usually occurs and she ends the night kissing up on random hos.
I’m just sayin’…
Bidges never sidewalk pimp. Why? Because they don’t have to. They usually get in clubs free for having their tiddyballs hangin’ out. And if they were sidewalk pimp, it’d only be for a short because we fellas always gotta play that full court press. I’ve stopped clubbing a long time ago. Therefore, I’ve stopped sidewalk pimpin’ altogether. But this was a nice trip, down memory lane.
Note: You see how the tall chick who was with her buddies was louder than Dallas. “BLAH BLAH BLAH MY AGENT!” Riiiiiight.
