If you ask any single woman today why she is single she’ll say “Because I’m looking for a real man”. Ask any single man and he’ll say “I’m looking for a real woman, somebody who can hold me down”. Most likely he or she will go into his or her definition of a real man or woman, which probably includes most of the following: good looking, good in bed, financially stable, nice job, an independent thinker, nice car, nice home, no crazy ex girlfriends, no kids, not on the down low (lol), affectionate, romantic, honest, loyal or as a wise man once told me, a fantasy person. I don’t want to go as far as to say that these people don’t exist, but if you are complaining that you cannot meet these types of people then maybe it’s time to reevaluate the kind of person you are.

What kind of energy are you putting out to attract the kind of people you meet? If every time you meet a man you run around screaming INDEPENDENT and talking about how you don’t need a man, do you really expect him to try to change your mind? Do you expect him to do more than have his way with you and keep it moving? We all know that the male ego is a precious thing in constant need of stroking and that men take things at face value. If you tell him that you don’t need a man for anything except the peen, then that’s all you’ll get. And men, don’t say that you are looking for somebody to hold you down and expect that to mean she’ll stay by your side through job after job, 8 nights of consecutive Madden tournaments, and ignorant baby mama’s. There is a difference between a woman who will hold you down and a doormat. It’s kind of like a job. There is no way, in any company, will somebody get that corner office on the top floor if they aren’t qualified for the position and work hard to get there. If you are in the mail room, don’t go around complaining about how there aren’t any good jobs. You aren’t getting the good jobs because you aren’t qualified and the same can be translated to relationships. If you don’t know what you want, are sending mixed signals, materialistic, attracted to drama, and most importantly not putting God first and self last, then expect to meet like-minded people and keep the complaints rolling. It’s not fair to the “real” men and women of the world to be ignored or simply thought of an extinct because everybody else is too busy running around with their mail room mentality. So before you say that you can’t meet a “real” man or a “real” woman, ask yourself this: Am I real?
