Father Wants Kid Back From Madonna Someday

Written by Zillzâ„¢ on October 22nd, 2006 in Zilla Says

I know coppin’ your very own african is hotter than PS3 (and probably much cheaper), but dang. All of this noise about whether the adoption was properly executed or not…Madonna should go back to being the trendsetter instead of the follower. Do it really big Madge, cop you a family of africans. Ill!

    from the BBC:

The father of the Malawian boy adopted by singer Madonna now says he would not have agreed to adoption if he knew it meant giving up his son “for good”.

Yohane Banda said adoption services in Malawi had never told him the procedure meant that 13-month-old David would no longer be his son.

Mr Banda had previously said the adoption was for the best of his child.

David was flown to Britain to live with Madonna after a Malawian judge granted her a temporary order to take him.

Malawi’s High Court will on Friday hear a legal challenge to the adoption brought by a human rights group which argues that foreign adoptive parents must live in Malawi for 18 months.

    ‘Clarification’

Mr Banda had previously said the “so-called human rights groups should leave my baby alone”.

However on Sunday, Mr Banda, who is illiterate, said he had no idea what the High Court adoption papers he signed had meant and he was “just realising” what the procedure entailed.

He said: “I was never told that adoption means that David will no longer be my son… If I was told this, I would not have allowed the adoption.

“I want more clarification on the adoption. I would prefer that David goes back to the orphanage where I can see him any time I want, rather than send him away for good.”

Mr Banda, 32, said he thought Madonna would just “educate and take care of our son”.

But he still thanked Madonna for rescuing David “from poverty and disease”.

“We pray for the good Lord to keep blessing her for her benevolence,” he told Associated Press news agency.

Mr Banda’s cousin, Wiseman Zimba, told AP: “Our understanding as family is that David is still part and parcel of our clan. After the good woman nurtures and educates him, he will return back.”

Mr Banda’s wife died shortly after childbirth so he left David in an orphanage.

Madonna, 48, insists she has acted “according to the law like anyone else who adopts a child”.

However, the Human Rights Consultative Committee is challenging the adoption in Malawi’s High Court, arguing residency rules were flouted and the ruling could set a human-trafficking precedent.

Madonna funds six orphanages through her Raising Malawi charity and is setting up an orphanage for 4,000 children in a village outside the capital, Lilongwe.

Obama Is Single-handedly Bringing Lightskinned Bruhs Back

Written by Zillzâ„¢ on October 22nd, 2006 in Politics, Zilla Says

First Terrence Howard, now this guy…I hear y’all, lightskinned dudes are the new youtube.
Your boy just might be running for G-dub’s seat in ‘08.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama acknowledged Sunday he was considering a run for president in 2008, backing off previous statements that he would not do so.

The Illinois Democrat said he could no longer stand by the statements he made after his 2004 election and earlier this year that he would serve a full six-year term in Congress. He said he would not make a decision until after the Nov. 7 elections.

“That was how I was thinking at that time,” said Obama, when asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” about his previous statements.

“Given the response I’ve been getting the last several months, I have thought about the possibility” although not with any seriousness or depth, he said. “My focus is on ‘06. … After November 7, I’ll sit down and consider it.”

Obama was largely unknown outside Illinois when he burst onto the national scene with a widely acclaimed address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

In recent weeks, his political stock has been rising as a potentially viable centrist candidate for president in 2008 after former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner announced earlier this month that he was bowing out of the race.

In a recent issue of Time magazine, Obama’s face fills the cover next to the headline, “Why Barack Obama Could Be The Next President.” He is currently on a tour promoting his latest book, “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.”

On Sunday, Obama dismissed notions that he might not be ready to run for president because of his limited experience in national politics. He agreed the job requires a “certain soberness and seriousness” and “can’t be something you pursue on the basis of vanity and ambition.”

“I’m not sure anyone is ready to be president before they’re president,” Obama said. “I trust the judgment of the American people.

“We have a long and vigorous process. Should I decide to run, if I ever decide to, I’ll be confident that I’ll be run through the paces pretty well,” Obama said.

Clipse’s Hell Hath No Fury Drops Nov. 28th

Written by Zillzâ„¢ on October 20th, 2006 in Music, Zilla Says

“The album is a documentary. This is the life of the Clipse, what we’re going through, and us spillin’ our guts, and letting the world know it ain’t been all gravy with us,”

    From HHNLive.com:

Rap fans can finally begin the official countdown to the highly-anticipated sophomore album from The Clipse, Hell Hath No Fury.

The Virginia-based pair will release the much-delayed project on Nov. 28, a date that was prompted by Clipse supporters.

“The moving up of the date is purely off the demand of the consumer and the Clipse fan,” said brothers Pusha T and Malice. “That’s who we doing this for right now. This album is about the fans that kept us relevant. They’ve helped us carve out our path, and we’re very prepared to go against the grain in putting out these releases. We had that confidence that not one conglomerate is gonna hold us back.”

Hell Hath No Fury is the Clipse’s official follow-up to their 2002 debut Lord Willin’. Despite numerous delays and drama with their parent label Jive, the group released their mixtape series, We Got It 4 Cheap.

“The album is a documentary. This is the life of the Clipse, what we’re going through, and us spillin’ our guts, and letting the world know it ain’t been all gravy with us,” the group stated. “This album, if it says nothing else, says struggle. It represents struggle.”

Although the public won’t hear the album until next month, Hell Hath No Fury has already garnered critical acclaim.

“We just wanna be responsible for putting out the hip-hop that we andnour peers listen to, and that’s lyric-driven hip-hop,” said the brothers. “We wanna be known as the guys who brought a balance back to hip-hop in general.”
